Tumut Easter Fly-in
2-5 April 2010 Group leader: Richard Tabaka Departure from: Ballina / Tyagarah on 30 April
The Tumut Easter Fly-in is an iconic and much awaited event on the HGFA calendar. The event has a relaxed and family oriented atmosphere which attracts hang gliders, paragliders and trikers. Tumut is situated at the northern end of Snowy Mountain H-wy offering short distance flights over the Snowy Mountains, the famous hydro-electric system of lakes, over Mount Kosciuszko and more. About one hour flight to the north-west will take you to Temora and Natfly (1-4 April) – major flying gathering for RA-Aus members and anybody interested in recreational aviation.
Weather permitting we are planning a few trips from Tumut: - flights over Mount Kosciuszko - a day visit to NATFLY - a flight to Halbrook
The return trip to Tumut is also packed with attractions: - Victor 1 – attractive scenic route along Sydney beaches - Katoomba and Blue Mountains - overflying Sydney suburbs on our way back - coastal route along Newcastle, and Stockton Beach
