This tour is not predominantly flying. We want to experience and explore the iconic Kimberley region not only from the air but also from the ground  This means relatively short flights which allow us to do a lot of walking, guided tours from the location we stay in and sometimes camping in the wild.

The Kimberley Region tour, (a continuation of the Byron to Kimberley air tour) can be booked and undertaken on its own. From the starting point in Derby, we travel to Cape Leveque to admire ocean sunsets, explore beaches and overfly the picturesque Buccaneer Archipelago. We will spend three days on the Cape.

On the fourth we return to Derby to restock our supplies before flying to our next base at Mount Hart or Beverley Springs. Both places have their own airstrips that we can use. The next two days we will explore the King Leopold Ranges from the air as well as from the ground.

On day six, we leave for Fitzroy Crossing. En route, we will land at Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek. The next morning we fly over the famous Geikie Gorge, then spend the rest of the day exploring the gorge by boat or on foot.

The rest of the trip through the Kimberley region will be taken at a similar pace. Our next leg takes us to Mt Elizabeth Station and then north to Mitchell Plateau airstrip. From there we will undertake a long walk to Mitchell Falls and camp overnight in the bush. From Mitchell Plateau we will fly north to Mangalalu airstrip for one day of air exploration of Cape Bougainville and Cape Londondery. From there we will overfly Drysdale National Park following the Drysdale river on our way to El Questro Station. A couple of days at the station will allow us to participate in 4WD tours organised by the station and fly to Wyndham for a half day visit.

From El Questro we will progress to Kununurra for a one or two day stay. It will allow us to see Kununurra attractions and explore Lake Argyle from the air.

The last big attraction to explore will be Bungle Bungle National Park before we end our trip in Halls Creek.

The Kimberley Region air tour will take 24-28 days weather dependant.
